Friendship
By Amanda Jones
(Contact: vjones@wcoil.com)

Softly, slowly, but determined.
That's how the years go by.
Leaving behind a memory
Like that of a lost lover's sigh.

The sweetest, caressing and tender.
The hardest, bitter and strong.
But always we'll stick together
Although forever seems long.

And when we get old and wrinkled,
And silver touches our hair,
In our old saddened eyes will remain a sparkle
Constantly twinkling there.

But now we are young and innocent.
At least that's the way it should be,
And although there's many among us,
We should stick together you and me.

Because the days and years go by slowly,
And a friendship is always good.
When lovers and haters dwindle,
I know by my side you stood.
