Beyond a Friend
By Laura Oakley
(Contact: homefri@hotmail.com)
I wasn't looking for a lover...
I was only looking for a friend.
And as I was falling out of love,
I said I'd never do this again.
When I started falling another time,
hardly before my heart had time to heal;
I asked someone to save me...
and you were the one who broke my fall.
Since the eve of this new year;
I couldn't get your touch out of my head.
How was I supposed to deny,
That I was looking at you as beyond a friend?
I can't stop falling now...
though I wasn't looking for this so soon.
My heart has been in your hands for so long...
and now your's is finally in mine, too.
