Wouldn't It Be
By Daniel Yellin
(Contact: MSDY123@aol.com)

Wouldn't it be strange if I had a dream
Where I woke up one night and saw a great big light .
A light that shined, so very bright.
As I rubbed my eyes
I felt sorrow and I heard many cries.

And as I arose from my warm bed,
I saw millions of people lying there dead.
I saw my life flash before me.
Those people were just lying there for my eyes to see.

The light grew even more bright.
It was brighter than the moon that shined
In the still of the night.
I heard a voice, calling my name.
Was I going insane?

Then once more the voice called out.
It was great long shout.
I felt something grab me by the hand.
The voice said it's time to go off to a special land.

As I approached Heaven's golden gates,
I knew I was about to meet my fate.
As the golden gates opened,
A tear rolled down my cheek.
I lost my vision and felt weak.

Though I couldn't see,
I knew someone was looking at me.
I felt a warm hand touch my tear from my cheek.
Then the voice started to speak.

I want you to know your life is not done.
In fact it has just really begun.
I want you to know I will always shine down on you,
And my love for you will always be true.

Remember these words till you turn old and gray,
And till it will be you turn to pass away.

"Life battles don't always go
To the bigger or stronger man.
Sooner or later the one who wins
Is the one who thinks he can."

But wait, "Who are you?" I said.
The next thing I knew I was lying in my bed.

RING RING

Mom, what's wrong?
Grandpa is dead.
