Struggle
By Annemarie Phelan
(Contact: whisper23@aol.com)
I've been living life at a nonchalant pace,
No indication of emotion upon my face.
I wander around in my world of self-hate,
My negative actions determine my fate.
Slowly dying in this dark world of mine,
I have a need to be loved, to smile and to shine.
With a sprinkle of hope, for happiness I yearn.
Struggling to change, I twist and I turn.
