A drop of rain, a breath of air.
The smell of flowers, grass as soft as hair.
Trees of green reach into the sky.
As birds fly through the blue so high.
This world I have, this world I know.
Is all I want to have and hold.
I close my eyes and lose myself.
Within this world and all this wealth.
But as my eyes re-open now.
I see a darkened cloud above my brow.
The wind picks up across my face.
And lightning scatters like a piece of lace.
This world is dark around me now.
As a tree snaps, and I lose my vows.
I fall to my knees to give me shelter.
My world falls, and it looks like Helter Skelter.
The sun peeks out as I rise off my knees.
I look around and start to voice my pleas.
My world is gone as a tear rolls down my face.
This place I knew so well I now flee in haste.
Now I walk down a darkened road.
I am just trying to keep ahold.
Upon my life and sanity.
As I am lead through a world of vanity.
Maybe I'll find that place again.
But it will never be what I had then.
