A Very Wonderful Father
By Nancy Williams
(Contact: jadenoel87@hotmail.com)

I watch him from a distance
If he only knew what I could see
He is a wonderful father
The way that every dad should be.

His children love him dearly
For he is a special man

He listens to their problems
He hears everything they say
He hugs away their sadness
He comforts them in every way.

He is a special father
He loves his children with all his heart
He shares with them time and love
and to them that's the best part.

He is sad that he is not with them
as much as he wants to be
to share with them the things that
go on daily

He calls them every night before
they go to bed
I am sure they dream of him
being there instead.

Things sometimes change
and you wish it didn't have to be
Mom's and Daddy's
can't live together
The children are too young to see.

So now he has to love them
from a distance
He prays they'll understand
He didn't want to break his family
He stands a humble man.

He had to make his stand
He didn't love their mother
so he couldn't stay
but he will love his children
till his dying day.

His oldest was told some
really bad things
a child should never be told

Love between a father and a son
is really quite rare and
for her to try and destroy that
was really not fair.

Now he must live his life
He must some how go on
He can't change the past
or the things he has done wrong.

He is a special man
The greatest father I have seen
His children love and adore him
That is clear to be seen.

He can still be everything they need
it just has to be from a distance
A little different way to look at it
But that is the way it has to be.

He is a wonderful father
I sure wish he could see....
