Don’t wish your life away, that’s what they say,
Enjoy your youth, seek out the truth,
Live for today, take time to play,
That’s what they say.
I’m sorry, but I’m tired,
I want to leave, I want to live,
I’ve so much to see, to learn, to give,
Don’t hold me back, don’t hide the truth,
Let me go and enjoy my youth,
You’ve been here, right where I stand,
Your future glowing, diploma in hand,
I’ve never know heartbreak, never known love,
Never felt my heart soar to heavens above,
I want to hurt, I need to cry,
I want to live before I die,
Don’t protect me from this hardened place,
Let me mess up, make huge mistakes,
I’ll live, I’ll learn, I’ll fly, I’ll crawl,
I’ll hurt, I’ll love, I’ll show them all,
What I become, what I’m destined to be,
Is in God’s hands, it’s not up to me,
Let me know of fear, of betrayal, and out-right pain,
Let me learn that it will pass, that I’ll smile again,
I know it’s scary, and I know it’ll be hard,
I know I’ve got to be on my guard,
But I’ve got to try, I need to grow,
Can I go the distance, I have to know,
Got faith in myself, got strength in my heart,
And I’m gonna finish whatever I start,
I’ll do all that I can, and all that I should,
But being bad is sometimes good,
I won’t be a saint, but I’ll try not to sin,
And if opportunity knocks, I’ll let it in,
Won’t live for the past, but I’ll live for today,
'Cause tomorrow may not come my way,
I’ll give my all in everything I do,
And through this journey I’ll carry you,
Here in my heart, down in my soul,
The memories of yester-year making me whole,
I refuse to fail, I will succeed,
I won’t stay fallen, I will proceed,
Loving you always, to thine own heart be true,
I’ll never forget this, the class of 2002.
