The Good Who Die Young
Author Unknown

In memory of Travis Hall
Killed by a drunk driver, January 5, 2000
Just a few months shy of high school graduation

This is in memory of the good who die young,
And we look at you now smiling down from above,
We know that you see us now, we know you hear us grieve,
This life is far too short already, and you were too young to leave.

You were the best that we've ever known,
So believe that you'll stay with us as we now grow alone.
If there's one thing we'll remember for now and forever after,
The thing everyone talks about is your unending laughter.

It's strange how your laughter brings us to tears,
Crying for the love you've shown us all through your too few years.
So this is in remembrance of a true friend gone
Without you in this place something just seems wrong.

To all of us here, something's just not right
I saw Nick and Eric bawling, they were supposed to work with you tonight.
Although you are no longer here, you will never die,
Because I know Garrett, Kirt, or Jared, would die to give you another try.

Talking to your baseball team as they tried to dry their eyes,
Watching Jon and Brandon, grown men trying not to cry.
And looking at the girls bawling at your name
I know to Emily and Katie things will never be the same.

If we were going to try to list all the people we've seen cry,
It would be honest to say, that we would be here all our lives.
But nothing lasts forever, and we're not trying to pretend
So even though your time is over, we know that you are with us until the end.
