Always there to comfort you
Selfless in her style
While her own heart is breaking
Concerned for others all the while.
It is time to be strong for her now
We must grieve – and we must weep.
But there is this special lady
That, thank God has let us keep.
Her illness bravely born,
Only a few short months before!
God could have easily chosen her
To welcome at his door.
So although we miss that great man
He would not rest in peace
If we did not care for his great love
And make her smile – at least!
He always brought the sunshine
And took away the rain
And now its time for all of us
To help ease our Mother's pain.
So Mum, we will try and do our best
To help you bare the load.
But we realize the difficulties
Of this very rocky road.
And Mother, please remember
We love you very much
You are our inspiration
With your special human, touch.
You make us laugh and make us cry
You keep us on our toes
You are the force that binds us close
And we’ve all got Dad’s great nose.
So look at us and turn to us
For comfort and for sorrow
Never feel alone or sad
Today, Next year, Tomorrow.
Forever we are here for you
In whatever you may need
To clean the house, or plant the plants
Or go shopping for birdseed.
We’ll cry with you, and laugh with you
But take comfort don’t despair
From the multitude of children
Evolved, from such a special pair.
Within each boy a Herbie
Within each girl a Jean
A combination of qualities
Exceptional and pristine.
The Mitchell’s will live on Mum
From you and Dad concurrently.
The morals that you taught us
And Dad’s tales?
Winning the lottery!
We are blessed with a million memories,
Which cannot be bought or sold.
We have you two to thank for that
We’ve have been blessed with more riches than gold.
We can hold our heads high and say
Thank you Mum for a wonderful life
A perfect father and mother
And for our Dad, the perfect wife.
Fifty years of golden memories
Stated in the 'Cornishman' not long ago.
Dad proud as punch by those wonderful words.
He knew you loved him so.
Don’t worry about words left unspoken.
Dad needed no words, he just knew.
That this wonderful woman we call 'Mother'
Will be there for us always and true.
THANK YOU MUM
