A winter,
A summer,
A spring,
A fall.
I can't believe
nearly twelve in all.
Three winters
I've held you close
In my arms,
And loved you so deep
Three winters a long.
Three summers
I've kissed you under the skies,
And let the heavens and earth
See with its own eyes.
Three falls I've marveled
at your smile,
As we lay in the leaves
Amongst a colorful nile.
And nearly three springs
I've gazed upon your hazel eyes,
And my love blooms again
With each catch of that high.
Three seasons of each
I've been able to call you mine,
And hope to have many more seasons
of the kind.
'Cause one thing's for sure,
unlike the seasons how they fall,
My love for you never could withdraw.
