My Hero
By Jayme Petok
(Contact: Dutchese143@aol.com)

In memory of Richard John "R.J." Newman
July 24, 1986 – June 11, 2001

Would you cry if I cried?

Would you die for a best friend
that you love with you whole
heart?

You are my hero.
You took away my pain.
You stood by me in my
time of need.

You always took my
breath away.

Have I lost my mind
for caring so much
and loving you?

Have I gone crazy
out of my mind for,
wanting to hold
you in my arms again?

I'm still trying to find
out why you died.

People are telling me
it is getting old, and
you are fine.

So stop woundering why.
God rest your soul
for you are the one
who stole my heart
away.
