228 Memory Ave
By Brad Handley
(Contact: dandme@execulink.com)
We lived there, we laughed there, we cried a little, too.
We had our Christmas dinners and sang a song sung blue.
My sisters shared a bedroom, the basement first was mine.
We'de party in the backyard until the sun would shine.
Our dog was smart and tiny, and we somehow named him Pugs.
He was always well-behaved and never peed on rugs.
We had a lot of memories there, I married my wife there, as well.
Ww were all very happy there, as if you couldn't tell.
Our parents were the greatest and filled our lives with love,
But they packed and left us to be with God above.
They were only there for thirty years, and it went by oh so fast.
How come the very best of times just never seem to last?
We lived there, we laughed there, we cried a little, too.
So please take good care of our home, it now belongs to you.
To us it's more than just a house or a structure you can have.
It's a place we carry in our hearts... it's 228 Memory Ave.
