Surrender
By Karen Meyer
(Contact: Hevnzlildevl@aol.com)

Cryptic secrets in the depths of my mind
Veiled from the relentless world.
Satanic cravings that bind
The razor to my trembling hand.
Life has paid its deathly toll,
Hell has taken my scarred soul.
Pain is what I was born to feel,
These violent conquests
That my heart cannot conceal.
The tip of the jagged edge
Penetrates the flesh of my wrist.
No regrets,
No false threats,
Just tears, blood, screams, and pain.
I am no longer part of this cruel game.
As my vision fades
And my dark heart slows,
I write a note in my own blood.
Struggling to stay alive,
I consider what to say
To the ones who induced me
To feel this way:
No one cared, no one tried.
So what if I die?
No one to trust,
No family, no friends.
It's not like you're going to care
If my life ends.
So this is for the ones
Who put me through the strife,
And compelled me to have an empty life.
I'm already gone, it's time to sell
My soul to the devil in the depths of hell.
I place the note on my chest,
As I cry my last tear,
Breathe my last breath.
And after years of fighting,
I finally surrender to death.
