You caught my tears before they hit the ground,
I told you things and you wouldn't make a sound,
I always opened up to you and somehow you always knew...
You always knew the words to say

Your smile lights up a hard, long day,
Your advice led me to where I need to be
Thank you for opening up my eyes to see

Even though you left, and I need to leave it all behind...
Just know our memories I'll always keep in mind.
Thank you for letting me know you'd be there till the end,
but most of all, thanks for being a friend.
