You're the Best
By Steve Mercer

Baby, you’re the best,
Not like all the rest.
You’re ahead of the pack,
All they see is your back.

They claw and fight and tug for each mile,
And you’re a dancing and singin’ all the while.

They run all but no where,
Give up with a bewildered stare.

They can't seem to top
One big quality you’ve got.
It’s one they don’t have.
It’s not their legs, face or hair.
It’s not something to put on or wear.
It’s not even something that makes guys stare.

It’s something I do see,
And man, it fills me with glee.

It’s God, He’s in your heart,
And that’s one thing that’ll never fall apart.

We all grow old.
Our looks get less bold.

But with Jesus inside, you won’t lose your place.
He’ll keep you way ahead of the race,
And none of them can try to keep pace.

Oh baby, you’re the best.
